Abstract
The article examines the environmental situation of the Kemerovo region. The interpretation of the term «case» and its structure are given, the algorithm of working with the case is revealed. A brief history of the emergence of the «case study» is described, some theoretical and methodological aspects of its use in the pedagogical process are considered, and the pedagogical tasks to which it contributes are listed. We are considering the use of cases in the educational process. An example of a case study on preventing dangerous phenomena and dealing with consequences at the «Sheregeshsky» mine is given.
